Every suite and guestroom at the new Grand Fiesta Americana features an ocean view

The Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta is one of the newest properties in one of Mexico’s most popular resort destinations, offering an adults-only, all-inclusive luxury experience. The resort is located in the southern part of the city, just a quick cab ride away from the boardwalk that’s been transformed into a dynamic pedestrian outdoor gallery lined with shops and bars, beaches, restaurants and attractions.
Fanciest Accommodations: The Presidential Suite offers 2,081 square feet of luxurious space on the resort’s top floor and access to the amenities of the Grand Club (private check-in, private bar area with all-day noshes), a huge furnished balcony with Jacuzzi, in-room jetted tub, king-size bed, living room, dining room, kitchen, 50-inch LCD TV, iPod port, Wi-Fi and Nespresso coffeemaker.
Most Common Accommodations: The design of the 130 Deluxe Junior Suites is well thought out, with one king or two double beds, a living with a couch, 50-inch LCD TV, Wi-Fi, iPod port, coffeemaker and stocked minibar. Suites sizes range from 425 to 522 square feet, with those on the Grand Floor in Tower II having in-room Jacuzzi tubs and access to private check-in.
What’s Included: Just about everything is included – gratuities and taxes, coffeemakers, stocked minibars, premium liquors, wine, beer and soft drinks, buffet and à la carte meals, snacks, and plush robes and slippers in every room.
Best Entertainment: The poolside area turns into a Vegas-style stage with the fire show on Tuesday nights. Live rock bands and salsa music bands come in once a week. Stay tuned for karaoke nights, complete with a stage and props.
What’s For Dinner? There are 15 food-and-beverage outlets, so there’s no getting bored with the menu. Choices include D’Brick for foodie-style buffets for breakfast and lunch; Rojo Corazón for traditional Mexican dinners with a gourmet flair; Gulietta for ocean-view Italian specialties (dinner only); and Yuu for Asian Cuisine (dinner only). “Faster” food is on tap for lunch and dinner at the Shore Grill and La Cevichería (seafood), plus there’s a tapas bar and a coffee shop/ bakery in the lobby.
Who Books This Resort? Couples between the ages of 30 and 55 are the norm, with annual incomes over $50,000. They enjoy the all-inclusive aspect but are amenable to exploring the region as well. Weddings, bachelor and bachelorette groups, and friends traveling together are also in the mix.
Insider Booking Tips: Every room gets an ocean view. However, the busy lobby is on the fourth floor, meaning hallways on that floor in any of the buildings get more traffic, so guests hear wheelies and luggage carts being rolled past their fourth-floor Deluxe Junior Suite door at all hours (extra soundproofing is planned for the near future).
For your VIP clients who don’t want to book anything other than the Presidential Suite – and it’s taken – you’ll be happy to know you can book a Governor’s Suite and it will be equally as fabulous: it’s only a bit smaller and has an ample L-shaped balcony with a private Jacuzzi. The service is exactly the same.
Serial upgraders will want suites on the Grand Club floors (12, 13 and 14 in Tower II), which give them an added level of service, including a private check-in lobby and access to the Grand Club. Be sure to ask for one with an in-room Jacuzzi tub. Hot tip: the Grand Club Junior Suites have them. These suites are not that much more expensive than the regular Junior Suites and your clients get the perks of the Grand Club.
The only difference between the regular Junior Suites and the regular Deluxe Junior Suites on the higher floors is about $15 per person, per night.
Best Spot for a Sunset Cocktail: The Divina Skybar is billed as having “chic Ibiza-style vibes” – and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s on the roof of the lobby between the two main towers with an unbeatable view of the sun dropping into the ocean. Plus, it boasts guest DJs and party-sized Jacuzzis.
Poolside Retreat: There are over a dozen Bali beds all around the pool area. Master Suite and Governor Suite guests have complimentary access; all other guests can snag one for $60 per day.
Key Selling Points: The most important selling point is the fact that this hotel is new from the inside out. Foodies will enjoy the 15 food-and-beverage outlets. You’ll love the fact you can guarantee an oceanfront view no matter what the category. And everyone will love having the best of both worlds on their vacation: relaxation at the resort (the beach has no public access), and nightlife and shopping five minutes away by cab.
